No. Tuition insurance must be purchased before the first day of classes for the term you want to cover. Once the term has begun, coverage is no longer available for that semester.
This deadline applies without exception — there is no grace period after classes start.
Why the deadline matters
Tuition insurance is designed to protect against unexpected events that occur during the covered term. The purchase must be made in advance — before the covered period begins — for the same reason you can't insure a car after an accident has already happened.
If a student withdraws after classes have started and coverage was not purchased beforehand, no reimbursement is available.
What if I missed the deadline for this term?
If the term has already started and you don't have coverage, there's nothing that can be done for the current semester. However, you can purchase coverage for a future term before that term's first day of classes.
For the next term:
- Purchase as early as possible — ideally when your tuition bill is first issued
- Make sure to buy before the first day of classes for that term
- Consider a multi-term plan to cover a full academic year with one purchase, so you don't have to remember to re-purchase each semester
What if I need to change my start date?
If you've already purchased a plan but your term start date has changed, contact us at 877-794-6603 before the first day of classes. Changes to your plan must also be made before the term begins.
