You can cancel your GradGuard Tuition Insurance plan and receive a refund of any unearned premium, provided the cancellation is requested before the first day of classes and no claim has been initiated.
Once the covered term begins, the plan can no longer be canceled for a refund.
How to cancel your plan
- You may cancel your active plan by calling 877-794-6603.
- If your plan is not yet active, you can view our how to cancel my plan FAQ for step-by-step instructions.
What if I want to change my coverage limit instead of canceling?
If you want to increase your coverage amount or update your plan details rather than cancel outright, those changes must also be made before the first day of classes. In most cases this involves canceling your current plan and re-enrolling at the new coverage level.
See our how to increase your coverage limits FAQ for details.
What if my term start date changes?
If your term start date changes after you purchase, contact us at 877-794-6603 before the first day of classes to update your plan.
Can I cancel after the term starts?
Once the covered term has begun, the plan cannot be canceled for a refund. If a student withdraws for a covered reason after classes start, that is a claim — not a cancellation.
